So it has been an interesting month and a half!! In the of September, Cole had a sudden onset of major headaches!! Because his Dad died from a brain tumor, we felt it was important to get them checked out. He had a CAT scan the middle of Oct. which showed that he had a large cyst on the back of his brain that was causing the pressure and headaches. The neuro surgeon decided the only way to solve the problem was to remove a chunk of his skull and scrape out the cyst. He went in for surgery November 7th, the surgery took just over 3 hrs and was a complete success!!
This is Cole and I after he was brought into recovery...as you can see the drugs helped a lot!! We were told he would need to stay in the hospital for 5 days but he surprised everyone and was let out in only 2 days!!! The Dr. and nurses were amazed that a few hrs. after surgery he was walking and watching football!
All bandaged up!! I was suprised at how long the bandage was because we were told the incision would only be about 5 inches long.
When they changed his bandage I was very shocked to see this 9" incision and 24 staples!!
The hospital sent us home with a staple remover and showed me how to use it but I did not dare, so my brother-in-law Tyler saved the day...and I think he enjoyed it!!
Cole is doing great and is on the mend! He will be able to return to work after Thanksgiving...I am so grateful everything went so smoothly, and that it is all over! Best of all, the headaches are gone!!! Thanks to all of our AMAZING family, friends, and neighbors for the support, prayers, and meals!! I love you all!!!

I am so happy that the surgery went well. Did they say why they had to make the incision so big? I feel really bad that I wasn't able to be there for your surgery. You are in our thoughts and prayers still. Can't wait to see you guys.
